The Lake View Class of 1981 Golf Tourney benefiting Debi (Ewell) Love was held on Sat., Sept. 16, 2000. As of the 16th, it looks like we will almost clear $3,000 after tournament costs. I am very pleased with the results of the tourney, and am extremely grateful to all those who participated in the fundraising. A great time was had by all. Here are the tournament results: A tie for 1st place resulted in a scorecard playoff. 1st Place - (13 under par) - Steven Gonzales, Johnny Serrano, Lupe Trevino, and Joel Nunez 2nd Place - (13 under par) - Garry Gonzales, David Gonzales, Johnny Trevino, and Ricky Velacruz 3rd Place - (12 under par) - Kenneth Martin, Donny Raffaele, Frank Perez and Mark Wright Other teams were: Matt Dorr, Jay Scott, Jim Bob Harris and Patrick Wyatt Jimmy Marsh, Bobby Beeson, John Jeter, and Ted Untermeyer Roy Beckerman, Mike Conrad, Mike Childs, and Donny Gallagher Perry Curnutt, Kerry Curnutt, Mark McDonald and Barry Norris Johnny Hartsell, Gabriel Alvarado, Charlie Prather, and Mike Widdess Rayford White, Dub Shelton, Orlando Hernandez and Fred Brant Matt Dorr won the prize for the "longest drive"; Rayford White won for "closest to the pin". Many doorprizes were given away, and bids were entered on the painting. Bidding will continue through Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000. Others who showed up at the tourney to help and visit were: Debi and Tommy Love, Donna Ewell, Lawrence Ewell, Harold, Tracie, Ransom and Tresur Davidson, Christy (Montemayor) Perez, Laurie (Boling)Gillispie, Denise (Baker) Untermeyer, Steve Hernandez and Steve Torres. A special thanks to Denise Untermeyer, who did an exceptional job on the tee-box signs. She spent a lot of time making them look really nice using color and graphics. She has the signs in her garage, if anyone who sponsored a hole would like their sign. Also, a big thanks to Ted Untermeyer for handling the money and the bank account. If you did not get a chance to make a contribution to Debi's benefit, but would like to, please mail any donation to Ted, and he will make sure it gets to the right place.
